The radiology clinic was a tenant build-out within a development previously constructed by Darland. The owners of the Dodge Street Radiology Clinic, American Health Imaging from Atlanta, came to Darland on a referral from the original developer.
Darland’s scope of work included subdividing the building, medical-tenant improvements, and constructing space for MRI equipment which required a copper-lined shielding room on a rebuilt floor slab with enhanced footings. The challenge was coordinating the delivery and installation of the large MRI apparatus.
“In order to accommodate the MRI equipment, it was necessary for Darland to leave out several walls, including a portion of the exterior wall,” states Scott Arant, President and CEO of American Health Imaging, Inc. After the equipment arrived, Darland completed the construction and finish work while working around clinic employees training to use the equipment. Darland also utilized construction procedures that protected the MRI equipment from exposure to dust or vibration and minimized noise during training hours.
“We appreciate that this task was completed with sensitivity toward our working environment,” Arant continues. “The success of the project is attributable to your competence, cooperation, and the extra efforts that you demonstrated. We greatly value your consideration to detail, cost, and meeting deadlines. We were thrilled when the job was completed ahead of schedule!”
